Blue Ribbon for Freedom bargello

Congratulations to Barbara Delphos of Massachusetts on winning a blue ribbon for her bargello quilt "Freedom". It is always wonderful to receive photos of quilts made from our patterns and very exciting to hear when they have been awarded a prize. Barbara sent us a photo of her blue ribbon prize along with some photos of the quilt in progress.

Today I had fun with my friend Sue, sewing a project for me. I had an idea and it will grow as I work on it so this blog post will continue on as I find time each month to work on it. This will be my Connect Threadz sew-in project for quite a few months to come.

Foundation Piecing or Paper Piecing

Today I have been playing around with foundation piecing, otherwise known as paper piecing. One of the reasons quilters love foundation piecing is because when done correctly, the blocks come out perfectly every time with all points matching evenly. Every quilter wants that!

Original Block - Twisted Ribbons

I really enjoy when quilters send me photos of their quilts made from one of my designs. I receive these quite often and like to share them with all my readers. Jen recently made my Twisted Ribbons quilt in purples and green. It turned out beautiful don't you think? I really like the border fabric Jen!
