Foundation Pieced Fireworks

Posted by Ruth on 22 July 2013 | 8 Comments

Another free block for Monday. This time I have chosen a brand new block that I designed myself called Fireworks. This block is foundation pieced so real easy to construct. I made a 6" block, but it could easily be enlarged. That will be for another day.

Bias Binding with Bias Bars

Which method of bias binding do you prefer to make? Using the bias tools makers are really good, but the bias is not as stable as when it is made with bias bars. For Celtic Work, I prefer using the bias bars.

Friday Flower Lupin

This week's flower is a lupin - it's real name Lupinus. Flying Geese and Half Square Triangles

Some blocks are easier to make when you make a full unit and then cut what you need from that unit and discard the rest. This is so with Aunt Addie's Album block, however I have a way to use that wasted section. I'm making a 12" finished block so this wasted section is a reasonable size.

Class Buttons

Today I was playing around making buttons. Not the regular buttons that you sew on clothing or quilts, but buttons to use as links to click on. It was rather fun and I got on a bit of a roll.
