We are already up to week three of July - time flies for sure. Rules are relatively easy this week. Remember to continue thinking abstract. Stitch your abstract appliques in place if you haven't already. Then couch thread around the edges of the shapes OR use couching to create more abstract shapes.

My Stitch Along July week 2

If you remember from last week's Stitch Along post, I liked the circular design I created with my triangles. The only problem I had was that the background was too small so I needed to reduce the size of the triangles so they would fit. That was easy enough to do - just trim them down a little. Once that was done, I looked at two possible ways to display the triangles in this circular design.

Don't you love it when one idea leads to another? I've been taking a class on creating adult coloring books. (Definitely not X-rated!) These apparently are some of the hottest selling items around at the moment. The process of coloring is calming and healing, very zen. But then, as quilt artists, we already were aware of the benefits of creativity.

My Stitch Along July week 1

I always like a new challenge and I have to say, using a fabric I don't care for is a real challenge, but it is fun trying. I went for a hunt in my bin of used and not liked fabrics. Basically, this is a bin of fabric that is scraps or fabrics I have no idea how to use. The latter is usually fabrics that have been given to me.
