"Less is More" in Mixing Up Media

Today I want to share some of the work one of my students created in my recent session of Mixing Up Media, my online workshop at AOQ. She was experimenting a lot due to the fact it was her first time combining fabric and paper so many ideas were jumping forth as she worked.

March Stitch Along Rules Week 3

I have to apologize for being a little late with the rules for this week. It's been a bit of a trying time these last couple of weeks, but being creative definitely helps. My March Stitch Along Week 2

This week I didn't get to do any sewing but rather played around with ideas for my creation. This is part of the fun when designing. I use the computer to do this as it is much easier to move things around, add and subtract objects, and adjust or manipulate them without wasting fabric.

Sky Rockets in Flight

It is so exciting to present Linda Schmidt's latest quilt "Sky Rockets in Flight". She created this quilt because like everyone else, she loves fireworks! In this quilt Linda has used all those wonderful embellishing methods we see in quilting today, from thread work to foil, Angelina fiber and fancy threads, and much much more.
