Inspired to design A New Day by Elizabeth BartonIf you are stuck on getting inspired in quilting, you definitely want to follow through with this online workshop as you'll end up with many design possibilities in as short as a week! Here is an excerpt taken directly from Elizabeth Barton's class Inspired to Design.

Despite rumours, a great composition does not happen by accident! It takes planning, patience and knowledge. It requires you to think. Also it is important to know that the best learning is achieved by doing. Just reading a recipe is not as good as actually cooking and certainly not as tasty. "Vision is not enough," wrote playwright Vaclav Havel. "It must be combined with venture. It is not enough to stare up the steps, we must step up the stairs."

Thinking is involved in all aspects of creativity. Every step in creating a quilt involves choices and choices are determined by the power of thought.

The goal of this first lesson is to help you develop at least a dozen designs. Once you have the designs, you will learn how to evaluate them but this week, all I want you to do is generate as many ideas as you can. I'm going to be here to help you sort out the strong from the weak...and explain why...and how to improve them. I look forward to seeing you in class!
