Nine amazing textile portraits have hit social media by storm you could say... and I'm not surprised. These portraits are so real like that you wouldn't imagine they were made of fabrics. Marilyn Belford made her first portrait of her parents (shown top left) back in 1999, she has gone on to make many more wonderful portraits as well as other art quilts. She is one very talented lady!

One of the nicest things to know about Marilyn is that she loves sharing her knowledge through her teaching. Yes, she teaches others to make their very own portraits and says you don't even need to know how to draw to make one of these breathtaking quilts.  Marilyn says... “There is great pleasure in seeing a skeptical student produce a beautiful art quilt and listen to their comments on how they never believed they could ever have done what they did”.
