"Buddy" quilt

I recently made a small wall hanging for a friend using some of my favorite techniques - the result worked well.

A few weeks ago, I had been creating some foundation/paper piecing so wanted to incorporate that technique for this quilt too. I used my favorite block "square in a square". You can find out how to make these from one of my recent blog posts: Foundation Piecing know how.

Another technique used was printing on fabric which I teach as a class (it is currently in session) but I also have the book available to teach you how to do this: Printing on Fabric e-book

Free-motion quilting is my very favorite technique. You will see stipple quilting both large and small in many of my quilts so this one is no exception. I have a class coming up in a few weeks at the Academy of Quilting to learn all you need to know about machine quilting for both straight quilting as well as free-motion: Machine Quilting class.

Here is a close up of this fun quilt with "Buddy" as the the spotlight in the center of the largest square in a square block and the smaller blocks spiraling away. The background is fill of stipple and the border is quilted with dog bones that I'm sure Buddy is eyeing up.

Have you made a quilt using some of your favorite techniques combined? I would love the hear about them so leave a comment for me below.
