Anita has always enjoyed making Christmas blocks. Some were practice blocks for patterns, others were just for fun. As she gathered more and more, she decided that all these wonderful blocks needed to be included in a bed quilt and thus her beautiful Christmas quilt was born.design your own Christmas quilt with feathered star center and Christmas blocks

She used a large feathered star in the center, which by the way, could easily be used on its own. It finishes at 36" square so would make a wonderful table topper, or the mitered corners (instructions included in her pattern) will increase the size to a lap quilt. What a beautiful Christmas quilt gift that would be!

I have to say though, the added blocks around it, really add character.... and the best thing is, you can add all your favorites. In fact, on our website we created a special page just for possible blocks that could be included, many Anita used, others are possibles you might like to include. We'll be adding more to the collection over the next few weeks. Here are just a few, click on them and it will take you over to the page we added.Christmas blocks at ArbeeDesigns include stars, wreaths, stockings & poinsettias

So congratulations Anita on a wonderful pattern and winning a first prize at the local show.... and we must include a congratulations  to Lynn Pittsinger who quilted it for Anita. An incredible job well done!

This is not only a fun way to create many different blocks - perhaps for a sampler quilt, but also gives the beginner designer an easy place to start adding her own expression of Christmas.
