May Stitch Along Instructions for Week 4

I know you already know what is coming for this week's instructions.... yes you guessed it. It's all about stitching. You'll need to make sure all those raw edges are secure and you will want to blend the colors of your fabric with stitching just like a painter would with paints. 

Collect some threads that will help you blend your fabrics. If you were painting, you would bring the paint of one area down into the next color. You can achieve a similar technique with threads.

Remember, if you are using free motion (which is probably the easiest method for this), before you even start, do some free motion warm ups. Take some leftover scraps and make a sandwich similar to your quilt and use this for practice. Try out various blends to see how they might look, then reproduce the cool effects on your quilt. The picture shows my practice warm up to give you an idea!
