Can you write letters? Then you are able to sketch as much as you need to make a modern quilt.... and do not worry about not being able to draw like an artist!

Modern quilts are fun and flexible.... you can be obsessively precise, or really loose and Elizabeth will show you how in "Mod Meets Improv", an online workshop which she has written for all levels.

You can follow a given design, you can design your own (Elizabeth will give you instructions on just how to do that)... and you will always have fun.

Have you ever wanted to learn improvisational quilt making??? Elizabeth's workshop is the place to do it!! She gives you a clear set of instructions that you can then adapt to your own way of working, with her help of course... And the final lesson will cover different quilting and binding or facing finishes so that you can find one method that is right for you. Once you get good at one method, I suggest you use it for all your quilts… that makes it so much easier when you are close to the finish line but have these somewhat boring end touches!

And....yes! You will always have fun and amaze your friends and neighbors!!!

About Mod Meets Improv: Elizabeth Barton's workshop is available online at www.academyofquilting.com along with many of her other workshops. It is written for all levels, even if you've never quilted before! Yet there is enough challenge that even the more experienced quilter will want to join in AND those longing to get out of the traditional rut! Modern quilts are fun – they’re quick and easy to make, but also have an elegant simplicity in keeping with the contemporary look. Read more...
