This week's inspiration is a cactus plant. I used the idea on a small scale, but thinking about it further, I wonder how it would look starting out in the center of a large quilt and working your way out to the edge.
Do you like to create something a little different? Maybe a mystery or a twist to the regular patchwork block? I certainly do. Let me know which quilt below is your pick.
I've been making tutorials again. It can be a lot of fun, but sometimes it is also takes a lot of effort especially when one makes booboos. I made a new welcome tutorial for the Academy of Quilting to help students register for our website in order for them to take classes. Many do not like the thought of registering, but it is easy enough and it helps protect both student and teachers from being spammed. No one likes that.
This week is embellishment week. Did you see the rules? Week three rules are here.
Chrysanthemums are also known as mums in America which always makes me giggle because that is what we refer to as our mothers in New Zealand instead of mom. They are certainly a beautiful flower though and come in a wide variety of colors. Red, yellow, pink, orange and white.

While out shopping I saw this really cool packaging design. I thought it would make a very different quilting design so snapped a photo.
The other day I was playing around with embellishments and remembered way back when I made fabric beads last. I remembered it being a whole lot of fun so decided to make some more. They are so easy to make.
