Yesterday I gave out my ripe for yummy pumpkin soup, today I'm going to use that same pumpkin as a quilting design. I used a straight bird's eye view of the top of the pumpkin to create my design.

Yummy Homemade Pumpkin Soup

Although it isn't the time of year we indulge in soup in the Southern Hemisphere, it certainly is appropriate for the Northern Hemisphere and Thanksgiving in the USA. That being said, I thought it was a great time to show you my huge pot of homemade pumpkin soup. There is nothing better than homemade.

Portraits in Quilting

Even though there is a lot of work going on at the Academy of Quilting, it does allow me to have a better look at each class individually. Years ago, I began to make a portrait quilt of my daughter by hand. Unfortunately, it was never finished, but now I'm inspired to continue on or start anew by Marilyn Belford's class "Realistic Fabric Portraits".

Friday Flower Begonia

With over 1400 species, Begonia flowers come in many different colors and shapes but I think their most interesting part is their leaves. Many have leaves that are outlined in a reddish color and others have wonderful red designs in them. When doing a search online, I saw some pretty amazing leaves that I think would make great quilts.

Pretty much every day I am on the computer using some sort of graphics, text or photos. Every day I write in some form (blogs are a good example), so I thought why didn't I think about this as a quilting idea before. Fonts. Selecting the right fonts can make excellent quilting. I decided to target one word and write it in one of my programs.
