I had a lot of fun this week. Did you? I hope you didn't miss this week's rules. How did you get on with the quarter square triangles? I received a couple more entries for last week and Jennifer sent her challenge pieces in for this week with quarter square triangles bordered. She must have had lots of fun because she made a Christmas theme set too. Check out the gallery: November Gallery.

Hanging multiple small quilts

To finish off my October challenge piece, I made some hanging straps (for a lack of a better name) to hang my four blocks. I had several quilters ask me how to make these so I decided to write a post so everyone could have the instructions. You can see them here in my "Changing Seasons" quilt blocks below.

Friday Flower Aster

I think the thing I love about Asters is they come in so many different colors. Lots of bright colors in fact. Because of all their bright colors I couldn't decide which color to use so I made my flower block using two shades of pink and two shades of purple. I didn't have a 'real' photo of asters so checked out the Wikipedia online for an image which I've shared here.

Today as I was walking home I found a pinecone on the side of the road and decided that could be an idea for quilting, especially for a Christmas design or autumn too for that matter.

Bargello Swirl

With all the changes going on at the Academy of Quilting, I haven't had a lot of time to work on my own classes. I'm mostly known for my bargello designs at Quilt Unversity and I am looking forward to offering more of these classes on the Academy. I already have my Circular Bargello available and will be adding Bargello Seasons, Bargello Blues and Twisted Bargello. To keep my Circular Bargello class competively priced with my other Bargello classes, this month will be the last time it will be available at the current fee. Next year it will be increased to reflect the going prices of all classes.

Need some quilting inspiration? The class schedule for January is posted on the AcademyofQuilting.com website. We have 24 classes listed to begin in January. Not only do we have many from Quilt U, a lot of which have been updated with videos and refreshed information, but we also have brand new classes beginning and several that have not been around in a while have come back.  Which one will you pick to start the new year? Maybe you'll pick two!

Stitch Along November begins. I had so much fun last month that I'm thinking I need to make another piece similar for a Christmas gift. I know a couple of the others thought the same, but now we are onto a new challenge. Will you join me? Did you see the rules for November yet? November week one rules are here.
