Jill's Applique Project
Earlier this month Jill Groom enrolled in Susan Brittingham's online workshop "Upside Down Applique". In no time at all, actually just one week later, I received photos from Jill of her finished project. I was amazed at how quickly she completed her beautiful Hummingbird and morning glory quilt.
My Stitch Along November Week 4
It's a good thing I have another week to complete this project because I decided to make my squares into place mats and of course, that meant extra work to be done, hence I didn't get as much done as I would have expected. It didn't help that I wasn't sure until a few hours ago what I would turn these into...
Stitch Along November Week 4 rules
For week four and five of this November stitch along we will be enhancing our simple shape and deciding how to complete it. Start by deciding how you want to use these blocks. Here are some ideas:
My Stitch Along November Week 3
This week is where all the fun begins. I love auditioning different combinations and seeing which I like best. To start out, I cut my four background squares. I made them 5-1/2" which gives me 1/2" seam allowances to work with, if I need them. If not, I can always trim them down.
Stitch Along November Week 3 rules
Rules for week three should be lots of fun. You can find the rules for the first two weeks here: November Week 1 and Week 2 rules. Let's get started.
My Stitch Along November Week 2
Are you ready to start putting your fabrics together? If you missed this week's rules, check back to Thursday's post: Week 2 rules. It won't take long to catch up. This week I'm working with two sets of fabrics so I'll be following the second option (or not)...
Stitch Along November Week 2 rules
Did you choose the shape you'll work with last week? If you missed the rules, check back here: Rules for Stitch Along Challenge week 1. In the meantime, I have a stack of fabric just waiting to be cut up. Of course, these small projects don't take a lot of fabric, so they are not going to chew through large amounts of fabric, but they do make great little gifts or tray mats. Easy to ship too!
Fabric' ating Embellishments
Do you have a long list of embellishment methods you want to learn? Rose has put together an embellishment workshops to really get your creativeness started and open the door for many wonderful unique ideas to embellish your quilts. It's not just adding buttons or beads, it's a whole lot more.
My Stitch Along November Week 1
This weekend is really an easy start for our November challenge. Perhaps it's just what you need to have a little fun. I decided that I will choose the pear shape. There is something about pears I like. I do find them rather bland to eat so let's see if I can 'juice' it up a little. I wonder if my pear with look good enough to eat by the time I'm done.
