Life here in Paducah Kentucky (Quilt City USA) is settling back to normal today after a wonderful crazy week of quilts, quilts, quilts. Quilt week here brings an additional 30, 000 visitors to town, and all are in search of quilts and a good time. For myself it was a week filled with having my own work on exhibit, giving demos, signing books, making new friends and spending some time with old quilt buds.quilt week demo at Paducah with Rose Hughes

My favorite time though was during the time I gave Fast-Piece Applique demos. Fast-Piece Applique is my own method of quilt construction and while the name says applique it is really a piecing technique. It is one that makes fun, fast work of curves-circles and stitching almost any design together.

and, ok I admit that I love seeing it all come together for someone who has not tried this method before.

During these demos I shared my newest passion of adding words to quilts (of course with Fast-Piece Applique)!wordquilt quilting added using Rose Hughes technique

Last week it was a blast sharing how Fast-Piece Applique can make anything simple to stitch together this with so many quilters….

This week it is YOUR turn! For on Friday, May 1st my Shaping-Up With Fast-Piece Applique on-line workshop begins.

Lesson 1 begins with the magical use of tracing paper – and you’ll be learning how to create your own designs in a fun, easy way.

In the two lessons after that you’ll learn how to use Fast-Piece Applique to stitch it all together.

And, in the last lesson there will be lots of finishing and embellishment techniques shared.

Hope you’ll join in the fun...
