Hand Dyed Fabrics

Posted by Ruth on 3 August 2013 | 2 Comments

I had a call from a friend who was clearing out her sewing room. She had some hand dyed fabrics and wanted to know if I could use them. I love hand dyed fabrics, probably because I do not dye fabrics myself or maybe just because the colors are not interrupted with designs. Whatever my reason, I said "yes, I can put them to use".

Imagine my surprise when she brought them in. Not just a few but graduation packs in many different colors. There were warm color packs....

and cool color packs...

Each packet ranged from having 4-8 graduated fabrics. The photos don't show the graduations that well, they look much better in person.

Now I need to come up with some way to use these. Any ideas? A new bargello might look good.

  • A bargello would be fantastic! I can't wait to see what you come up with.

  • oh I am jealous - wish I had a friend wanting to give away hand dyed fabrics - you are so lucky - what a score.
