Celebrations is Anita Eaton's newest class. This is a fun project where you add your own creations to create your occasion with the help of Anita. She shares many fun techniques to embellish your quilt such are crochet wedding bands and three-dimensional flowers.

I asked Anita to share a little insight:

"The Celebrations class was created as a design your own wall hanging class. I take you through the process, offering ideas and advice from my many years of quilting. In class we cover the basic structure for a horizontal or vertical wall hanging, then move onto the fun part where I help you through the process of designing an individual quilt designed to commemorate a special occasion.  As an added bonus, I share my patterns for a door hanging for a children's rooms - either boy or girl.

You will learn some ways to test out your design ideas, include memorabilia, and create a finished project.  The skills you develop in this class will allow you to create different hangings for many occasions suitable for gifts or to keep for yourself. The most wonderful thing is, what you learn you will be able to use over and over again to create one of a kind pieces using a variety of techniques."

I adore the scroll Anita included on her anniversary quilt and she tells me she includes full instructions on how to make it in class, showing you how to get the shadow effects and real three-dimensional look.

This class has to be loads of fun. Be sure to check out Celebrations starting 26th September.
