Do you know how to do Broderie Perse?

Do you know what Broderie Perse is and how to use it? I used it in one of my stitch along challenges last year so if you joined me then, you'll know what it is all about. It is a form of applique using motifs from fabric prints. Susan Dorchester teaches the class and knows all the ins and outs. Today she shares with me and you some of the pieces she has made using Broderie Perse.

...and you are not limited to using Broderie Perse on quilts. Why not add it to purses too?

Beautiful! What's your favorite?

Susan Dorchester's love of fabric began at a very young age when she started sewing for her dolls.  Her mother taught her to sew and design her own clothes and her great grandmother taught her to embroider.  In college, she studied art, textiles and interior design. To find out more about Susan Dorchester, you can read her profile at the Academy of Quilting.
