Embroidery on Patchwork
I'm doing a blog Stitch Along for March which includes lots of scraps (could be considered a crazy block by some). When I was looking up which classes were starting this week, I realized that the techniques one learns in Joanne Winn's class "Embroidery on Patchwork" would be really cool to incorporate in this sort of work. I can just picture a large quilt, a great way to use up scraps and learn new techniques at the same time.
Many of the Embroidery classes use only the Embroidery Module on your machine, but that's not so for this class. You can use either your domestic sewing machine or your embroidery machine. Here is a table runner Joanne made using the techniques learned - beautiful isn't it?
I asked Joanne to tell us more about her class:
"This class will teach students how to stitch Crazy Patch squares on a whole piece background in your machine embroidery hoop or pieced on your home domestic machine. The project is a tablerunner but very easily could be a wall quilt or a quilt. I love the look of all the fancy stitches and embroidery designs. It is exciting to see all the difference color combinations that the students stitch out. I hope you will come and join me to learn this fun project. I have some closeups of other Crazy Patch projects. The blue border ones are another tablerunner I stitched for this class."
The results are gorgeous.
