Sneak Pre-view

I've been working on quilting today. This is a fourth quilt option for one of my online classes "Patchwork with a Twist". The class starts soon so I want to get this completed for the gallery.

At the moment, it is still under the needle as I have a little bit more to complete, but I'm almost there.

Of course, I had to come up with a new quilting design for it so I made a simple feather shape to fill the blocks.

Simple feather design

This simple feather is a great way to get started into learning the technique without it being overwhelming. From there you can easily progress into more detailed feathers.

And since this is going to be a show piece in the class, then of course, I had to make videos and extra written instructions to add to the class so my students can use this as an option to quilt their quilts. Nothing like making extra work for myself, but that's all a part of being a teacher I suppose.

From there I made a little promotional video too, just so I could give you a sneak preview. I was playing with this one, learning how to use various options in my software.

Some how I made it wide screen - still trying to figure out where that came from.

  • I know exactly what you mean about making more work for yourself. Did that with my Floral Alphabet Garden Quilt.
