Based on the Flame stitch design in needlepoint, bargello quilts fascinate everyone with their complexity and interplay with color and value.
I just had to share Julie's bargello blues, that isn't so blue. Julie Haase of Texas took my online class at Quilt University earlier this year. She selected colors in orange and gold from her border fabric to create the bargello then framed it with black. It is stunning I must say.
Congratulations to Barbara Delphos of Massachusetts on winning a blue ribbon for her bargello quilt "Freedom". It is always wonderful to receive photos of quilts made from our patterns and very exciting to hear when they have been awarded a prize. Barbara sent us a photo of her blue ribbon prize along with some photos of the quilt in progress.
Today I want to share a project from one of my students Judy of Switzerland. Judy joined my online class at Quilt University "Bargello Blues" where she learned to make this design. The class is four lessons long and also teaches you to create your own bargello designs.
Today I had to share a quilt from one of my students. Currently I have running my Bargello Seasons online class at Quilt University - this is always a popular class and it shows by the work that is created in it. Jo Dickson is just one student in my class this semister and is delighted to share her work with us all. Her Bargello in Spring (the first bargello of the series) is all complete and slightly different to the usual Spring Bargellos.
Today I wanted to share with you some of my students quilts made in my online classes. I have chosen one class "Bargello Seasons" in which the students make four different quilts for the class. They are presented in seasons to give a different color palette for each quilt. Of course, the student isn't committed to use the colors I have if they choose not to. They can make the quilts in any color ways they prefer.
