It is always wonderful starting a new workshop with Elizabeth Barton and for 2018 she has a new one published, The Six Hour Quilt. A little different than her previous workshops, but just as much fun. This is a good basic class but also fun for students of any level!

How many times have you said, I'd love to make a quilt but I don't have time? Well, now there is no excuse. Elizabeth starts you off by designing, then learning about colors and selecting fabrics, and then onto making your own original quilt. You cut, sew, layer and quilt it and she even includes an easy way to finish off your quilt. This is all completed in 6 hours. Her class is spread out over 6 weeks so all you need is to dedicate one hour per week.

Plus! It involves working from your stash. Nothing extra needed... of course, if you want to add a few new fabrics, then why not? This workshop is all about having fun.

Elizabeth asked three friends to go through the course – every week she took photos and short movies of them working, all of which is presented in the class. One of her students had never made a quilt before, so we know you can too! Here's what she says...

It was a pleasure from start to finish. I learned about “color theory” and principles of composition to develop a plan for my first small quilt. Elizabeth gave clear directions and all the positive feedback needed to move from step to step. The process was logical and Elizabeth is easy to interact with and maintains a witty sense of humor.
