My January Stitch Along week 1
I'm excited to be working on another stitch along and it is great to be able to dig into my scrap bin again. I fumbled around in it quite some time remembering where each piece of fabric was used in a previous project, and of course it is great to use up some more pieces, although this project won't use much at all. Before I get started though, if you missed the rules for this week, you can find them here: January Stitch Along Week 1 rules
So in my scrap box, it was real easy to find some warm colored squares. I have plenty of them.
I also found my dark fabric and now, as I crop the image, I realize this fabric has butterflies on it. I never saw that until now. Can you see them?
I really didn't have anything in my scrap box for the cool colors, which surprises me because I use a lot of cool colors so you'd think I should have scraps! Oh well, I just had to dig in the cupboard instead. I chose two blues that should work fine with the black above.
What I did have in my scraps though was some odd shaped pieces of fusible, which worked great for my scraps of warm fabric. I fused them on and will trim them next week.
All I need to do now is add fusible to the blue smaller piece and then I'm set for next week. How did you get on? Tomorrow I will be setting up the Stitch Along Gallery. Be sure to check in to see what others have done, better still, send me a photo of your challenge fabrics to add to it.
