My Stitch Along August week 5
This is the fifth week of August and time to finish off my stitch along project. I've had great fun with this. All I had left to do is quilt my project, then bind it or finish it off in some way. First I layered it and choose a red thread to add the red lines I had planned on.
I used free-motion stitching to add those lines. I considered double stitching them but settled for just the one.
Next I decided to quilt down the background. I loaded the machine with white thread to match the white background and outlined each section. I didn't stitch inside the red lines though.
I decided to quilt straight lines in the background areas using free-motion stitching.
Here's how it looks with the straight lines completed. It makes the black really pop up. I also outlined the inner white circle but didn't add any further quilting to that section.
I still felt the round sections needed something so I decided to echo quilt the red lines with more red lines.
Here's how it looks finished with the binding on.
