My Stitch Along November Week 1

Posted by Ruth on 1 November 2015 | 2 Comments

This weekend is really an easy start for our November challenge. Perhaps it's just what you need to have a little fun. I decided that I will choose the pear shape. There is something about pears I like. I do find them rather bland to eat so let's see if I can 'juice' it up a little. I wonder if my pear with look good enough to eat by the time I'm done.

I selected green fabrics for my pear, mostly lights to mediums. I could have chosen brown but I have a better selection of greens in my stash.

I decided to add a few gold fabrics as well, to catch a little fabric selection

After a little more digging in my stash, I decided this fabric might work nice for the background. It contrasts the light gold fabrics and has a hint of green in it. Should work well. The photo shows it a little more orange than it really is, it is more a rustic brown shade.background contrast fabric selection

To finish off, I pulled out a number of threads to work with, mainly greens and golds to match my fabrics. I may go ahead and find some darker threads later on when I get to the stitching as I have usually changed my mind or thought of something a little different to try. We'll see what happens.thread selection of greens and golds

I sure hope you'll send in a photo this week! If you missed the rules, you can find them here: November week 1 stitch along rules....

  • No, choose whichever you want. The choice was pear, bell or leaf.... or you can suggest something else related to the holiday season

  • Should everyone choose a pear shape?
