Stitch Along March rules part 3

I've had a lot of response from my last stitch along post especially when I posted it on Facebook. Many mentioned "one fish, two fish" from the Dr Suess book and I discovered it was actually Dr Suess month this month, how cool is that? So as a result, I'll probably make more than one block with varying amounts of Nemos.

If you haven't taken a moment to check the Gallery this week, be sure to as it has been updated again.

Rules for March Week 3

Step 1: Commit to something perpendicular to your background strips, but it should not be last week's applique, that would make it just too easy. Add something more. An example might be a row or string of beads...stitch along mar w3 rules1

an additional fabric strip....fabric strip set perpendicular to the horizontal lines

or even a fabric strip woven through some of the background strips.fabric strip woven through the horizontal strips

You might also decide something as simple as stitching or couching.

Make a decision and if you need to add it before you press your applique in place, do so.

Step 2: Keeping your step 1 selection/decision in mind, rearrange your applique if necessary and then press it in place.

Step 3: Stitch the strips in place using any stitching you like, it may be blanket stitch, straight stitch, free-motion or a decorative stitch. Whatever pleases you. You should be stitching through all layers. Also attach your appliques by stitching around the edges.

That should keep you busy for a little while. If I'm making extra blocks, it's going to take me a good while :)

Happy Stitching!
