Did you work on your design area last week? Be sure to check back for the measurements in the Week 3 rules. If you missed the earlier rules for this Stitch Along Challenge, you can find them here: Week 1 and Week 2.
Okay, this weekend didn't turn out how it was planned! It all started when I went to cut my 12" squares for my stitch along project as mentioned in week 3 rules. The fabric I had, wasn't big enough to cut two 12" squares so it was back to the drawing board I had to go. No problem, I soon found another fabric that I felt would work just as well. This fabric was black with brightly colored dots. I'm thinking I must have a thing about dots this month!
This week I've been playing with paper and tvyek. I really like the effects you can get with tvyek, but don't really know good places to use it. I think this week it should work quite well. So what did I do? (If you missed the rules, you can find them here: Rules Week 1 and Week 2)
Welcome back to our second week of August Stitch Along rules. This week we are going to do something a little more challenging, just for fun. If you feel it is too challenging, then use whatever method you prefer.
I had fun gathering up some things for this month's stitch along challenge. The first week is always reasonably easy in that sense, it is more difficult thinking up what sort of challenge we will do next! I need to start taking in some notes during the month to help me out for the next month...
B is for birthday and also for Bonus. This month we have 5 Sundays so that's a bonus and this month is also my birthday month so I thought that might be a good reason to select the letter B. B is also for Blue (my favorite color) and balloons which of course is associated with birthday. Let's put it all together and see what we can come up with.
The last week of July - wow that went fast! I was a little anxious about this week only because I didn't know how these pieces would turn out. At the end of the day, I was having a ball and even made a short video of one finished result. Okay, so I know by the end of this post, you'll want to try these too so here are the links to each set of rules, but really for the instructions you only need the last two. Rules for week 1, week 2, week 3 and week 4.
How is your Christmas shapes coming along? Did you check out the gallery? You can find the July Stitch Along Gallery here. If you missed last week's rules be sure to take a peak: Challenge Rules for Week 3
I have to say I have really enjoyed today's stitch along. It was a great time to do some free-motion warm up. Now I'm thinking I could use all my sample warmup pieces to create something like this! Good idea. If you missed this week's rule, check them out here: July rules for week three
