May Stitch Along Instructions for Week 3

So where are you up to? Did you make a sunset or sunrise? I think the trick is making those tiny squares work in the way they should, but if they don't, it doesn't matter! I think I've made Aurora lights instead.... but to continue on, this week we are moving away from squares unless you choose not to of course...

Rules for Week Three

stitch along mock border added to patchwork sunsetThis week is all about borders. The challenge here is to make a border that does not have a straight edge. It may have a straight outer edge but not an inner edge. Can you do it?

If you prefer to piece your border you can make a fake non-straight edge by extending your background design over it. I've mocked up an image to give you an idea.

That's one way, but I'm thinking applique would be much easier and I have something in mind for what I'll do. I hope you'll check my blog post out in a couple of days to see exactly what I come up with and of course.... if my theory works!

  • I have company for several weeks, but plan to follow this project later. So glad you save the stitch alongside. I did get the squares cut
