My November Stitch Along week 4
How did you get along with your Stitch Along? Remember to update the gallery. We had a lot to do to get this finished today so I expect to see more entries during the week. I still need to do the hand stitching on the binding, but all my embellishments are attached. I almost forgot the 'round' 'green' beads which needed to be included.
I finished off backing my four QST units and decided to use them as embellishments on the front, rather than part of the backing.

Backed QST
The small one could have been used as a scissors fob. What do you think?

Scissors fob
This gave me an idea...
I set to and layered my quilt and decided that I should quilt some spider webs since that was my theme fabric. I didn't want to quilt over the QST units so decided just to do this in the two bare corners, but first I stitched-in-the-ditch around the four QST (not the shadows) and around the border. I used a metallic thread to add an extra bit of sparkle.

Corner cobweb
I added a third cobweb in the very center.

Center cobweb
So the overall quilt now looks like this.

Quilting finished
Next I needed to add the hanging QSTs and I figured I should do so using the beads. With the way I backed the QSTs it was easy to hide the knots inside - I hadn't counted on this when I first did the backing so this worked out really well. I added my little round green beads to make a tail on each QST unit and one at the top.

QST embellishment
With the binding attached, this turned out rather cute.

My finished challenge piece
Don't forget to check the gallery.
