Stitch Along September
September is fast approaching, in fact the 1st is Sunday so we need to be ready for our September challenge. September the 1st is noted as being the first day of Spring in New Zealand, although snow is forecast for today! Oh well, that's a good reason to begin thinking about our Stitch Along Sunday. No reason why you cannot plan it now and post the result on Sunday.
September Week 1 rules
This month we are going to base our challenge on a landscape, a photo I took of the mountain ranges in Nelson, top of the South Island in New Zealand which is my hometown.

Nelson ranges, New Zealand
Use the photograph to create simple landscape lines, keep the design lines quite big. You don't have to trace them, just draw some lines by eye or even cut directly out of fabric if you wish. Why not give it a try? Remember, the photo is just to guide you with design lines. You might end up with something completely different, it doesn't matter. Have fun! Challenge yourself by using different colors than the photo at least in one area.
Use up to EIGHT fabrics to create the background for this simple landscape. The foreground tree line could be made up of two or three different fabrics if you wish.
After your background is made, select a different fabric than has already been use, but one that will work well with your landscape and yet stand out from it. Say one you might use for a border.
Once complete, take a photo of your background with your selected fabric next to it and send it in for Sunday's Stitch along. I cannot wait to get started. See you Sunday!
