When it comes to quilters, or crafters in general, most do more than just one craft. They often include at least one other they like to do so today I thought I'd mention just a few of the other crafts I've been doing lately.
I do a number of different crafts including knitting and recently I took the new challenge of test knitting a small top by Truly Murtle called Adira. Made using wool satin from Anna Gratton it is perfect for our fast turning autumn days.
I learned to knit as a young child but even before then, I learned to crochet. It's not a craft I've continued a lot over the years until I picked it up again last year when I began crocheting critters for Tillybird. It's something my daughter and I do together which makes it even more enjoyable. Here are some of the critters we have recently made.
My love for quilting developed from sewing and dressmaking. As a young girl I made dolls clothes, as a teenager, many of my own clothes, and as a mother, almost all of my children's clothes. Quilting started taking over after my first applique lesson when I began firstly incorporating quilting in clothing...
....however I've rarely sewed much except for wedding dresses for my sister and daughters but recently I have been inspired to make myself a couple of new tops.
And of course, at the same time as those above, I continue working on my latest quilt...
Some of the other crafts I do include spinning, cross stitch, embroidery, tatting and diamond embroidery. What are some of yours?
